The event was part of the «Russian Nights in Switzerland» - a cultural entrainment concept, created by the “Riviera Russe” Association with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Switzerland. The concept was inspired by its artistic director and President of the “Riviera Russe” Association, Mrs. Zlata Smirnova.
Leonid Agutin's fabulous show and cocktail-dînatoire took place at the magnificent ‘Petit Palais’ banquet hall with more than 250 guests in attendance.
Leonid Agutin, a successful and world-famous Russian singer and song-writer, performed his most popular hits, such as It all went somewhere (Всё куда-то девалось), How not to think about you (Как не думать о тебе), One half of a heart (Половина сердцa) and Airports (Аэропорты). The audience hasmost warmly welcomed their favourite tunes: Cosmopolitan Life (Космополитан Лайф) and Ole-Ole (Оле-Оле).
The fantastic atmosphere of the night and Agutin’s catchy rhythms forced the audience to leave their seats and join in the dance on an improvised dance floor. The fun didn't stop until the end of the concert and continued at the after party at the hotel’s nightclub, where guests danced and took active part in the Russian karaoke.
Guests of the gala night have greatly appreciated the menu of the cocktail-dînatoire that was prepared by the Executive Chef of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace hotel. A selection of sophisticated dishes was accompanied by Tattinger champagne and Chateau Marjosse wine.
The live charity watch auction, organised by the ANTIQUORUM Auction House, aroused great interest among the guests of the gala night. A rare pair of CARTIER PASHA & FRANC MULLER Master Banker was sold.
The sale continued with a pleasant surprise for the audience - an auction of a rare Double Magnum of Chateau d'Yquem 2005, offered by one of the guests of the “Russian night ” - Mr Pierre Lurton, President of Chateau d'Yquem and Chateau Cheval Blanc.
All proceeds from the sale will go to the development of children’s schools “Matrioshka” located in Montreux and Lausanne.

I am very glad that the auctioned bottle of Chateau d'Yquem will support development of the Matrioshka schools. I will attend the next «Russian Night in Switzerland» with great pleasure.»

Zlata Smirnova –
«While living in a country that has become your second home, you most intensely feel the lack of your original culture and every contact with what is close to your heart and soul, invigorates you and brings strength. «Russian Nights in Switzerland » are intended to offer to all Russian-speakers living in Switzerland, as well as their friends and families, an opportunity to simultaneously experience the very best of the great Russian culture and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
I sincerely hope that every «Russian night in Switzerland» will bring our guests much joy and plenty of moments of happiness.»
